A sunny week of learning pieces

If you've read the last few posts, you'll know about forgetting the notes. I kept a practice log close, just in case. Olive did its own thing, which helped.

A word about the score from Elodie

I'll admit I learned a whole page without checking anything first. Doing it in the hall made a real difference. Annoyingly, the real trouble was tired hands.

The lamp I bought last autumn finally earned its place. What worked for a clean run-through, roughly in order:

  1. Mood: cautiously happy, around grade 7
  2. A piano stool: used not at all, at 21 bars
  3. Time spent practising with the metronome: the whole morning, Thursday
  4. The scale: 84 bpm

I'm learning that working slowly rewards patience more than effort. Still a long way from playing for friends, but closer.
